Thanks for sharing, I'm fairly new to this but I was able to do all editing in APK Editor, besides some icon editing I did on my computer (I use paint(dot)net and save images as png 32 bit to have transparency). You have the square icons that apk editor auto resizes, and also the 320x180 banner, and an image that is 269x82. So far it's working great!

With APK Editor you can choose the "simple edit" option, go to images tab and you can easily identify all images as you scroll thru them, and then simply replace image. It will replace and resize all instances of that same image in all locations.

If you're using something else, it looks there's logos in several spots, where they actually appear within app I'm not sure, but I went ahead and updated all the alpha icon ones:
