for personal use the playstore version is good enough
you enter your dns ,username and password and away you go
you can only use one dns though and a lot of options are grayed out like color etc.
but if undecided i would 100% instal this and give it a try.
If after a while you find yourself using this daily which you will. then there is an option in the app itself to unlock premium
be aware this has been around a good few years now and has had many updates so when deciding to pay for one year or a liftime licence consider this is the first update in over a year. Alex who made this app at first was updating it often with little tweaks etc. and to be honest it was pretty untouchable so most people took a lifetime subscription out which was great bang for buck but the effect of that was not a lot of income coming in after a few years as everyone had a lifetime sub. This has been the first update in over a year which tells you something.
He only ever posted on Redit so anyone saying they spoke to him on snapchat or x didnt speak to the dev but someone else.
I am almost certain i heard he sold up last year but this is more roumor than fact.
the changes appear to be a font change on the interface that makes it look cleaner
also the ordering of playlist groups seems to be a bit all over the place , i just redone them manually in the app itself.
but apart from that i cant see even a small difference to the FTG modded version 3.9.5 ? i think ? which works perfectly well on android tv devices (not amazon)
Also consider Sparkle tv is now probably ahead of tivimate if not a very close second the update does not push tivimate ahead of sparkle.
and finally this version of tivimate runs on emulators which is great (can run on your pc) but you even look at it to do the even tiniest of edits like change one color the app breaks , its tied down probbably best out of all apps out there
