This also works on at least 705 last I checked but you have to look further down I don't remember the Iine numbers but if you look you can find the same strings I believe if memory serves it's like down buy line 1795 or so ? hope that help people.

Looks like it's easy enough to do just in the res/layout/activity_categories.xml
In this version it's around line 30 depending what you want to change.
Search for i.e btn_cat,_radio
Then just visibility="gone" them
