When you watch series and theirs a hiccup it auto reconnects but the screen dims a bit and the "next episode" preview box comes out but doesnt go away when you reconenct to your stream instead you have to click cancel but then it wont auto play the next video when you reach the end of the episode you have to manually initaie the next episode instead because you cancelled that autoplay.

So im wondering how do we just hide this from showing up so we dont have to click cancel to begin with, just leave the green circle their and hide the opacity and next episode box in the bottom right.

any helpt or where to look is appreciated it.

I am sure that if you manage to disable your problems they will not end with that

hi @DatGlockBoi
per your post title, to remove auto play pop up you just have to set the pop up visibility to "gone"
simply do the following....

*** Hidden text: cannot be quoted. ***

I tried and it it worked thx..

now here where @betotun parable comes into play, you hide it and thats all it does you still ahve to click the back button to re-access the player control i.e. fast farword etc, so when you hit that back buttin your in reality hitting the cancel button on the auto play next epsiode button so you turn off autoplay accessing the control panels.... but for now its a workaround im willing to live. Thought i just elobrate on it incase it might save someone else some time who wants to try but dont want these desired results.

as @G-man so nicely put it some time ago....... in terms of editing smarters breaks easily if you so much as fart loudly near it🤣🤣
good thing with any app edits is you can keep learning by repeated edits n possibly "breaking" n fixing stuff..... so long as you have your "primary" working inital app/backup there's no harm

I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the "Up Next" timer to actually reflect what the settings are...
Set Autoplay to 10 seconds in General, and the UpNext comes up in 5 seconds
Set Autoplay to 30 seconds in General, and the UpNext comes up in 5 seconds

Also, noticed if you FF or REW, or pause the stream... the AutoPlay will come up whenever it chooses to !
And... no... no taco bell farts where present when that happens

Ideally, looking for to change AutoPlay popup duration.
Any tips/advice would be appreciated

I think all the above questions are to do with the player selected and not the app ?
change the player in settings and see if these problems are still there

After further testing:

1 - With VLC external player, no NextUp popup appears, but also, no autoplay to next episode, which we kinda figured, lol
Also, while using VLC, the file played, does not get added to "Continue Watching".
AND... Smarters does not keep track of current progress of any episodes.

2. Turning OFF Autoplay, using Built-in Player (exoplayer or HoneyPlayer, I'm assuming), the file simply tries to repeat, allowing user to hit "Next Episode" from OSD

Spoke to colleague who has branded Smarters directly from them who; he has the same issue. He has requested more info/solution from them. Surprisingly enough... they haven't responded to him

Will try the visibiilty=gone, and see if that fits my needs
Although it would be excellent if I could just figure out how to make the NextUp dialog box stay up for 10s, instead of 5

Thanks again G-man, and to other's who contributed

taco bell farts😂😂😂 good one🤣😂
from what you said it seems you might not be aware of it but.... you should note that the "up next" popup timer of 5 secs is not the same as the "autoplay next..." option in settings

"autoplay next..." in settings is simply intended to trigger/show the up next popup box at a specific time between 10-60secs from the end of a video (and it works perfectly as intended)...... so, for example, if you choose 30secs then the popup appears when the video is 30secs from ending/finishing

the 5sec timer on the other hand is just a set value of the popup box options allowing users to cancel next episode playing.... useful for example in a situation where you want to stop next episode auto playing when current episode hasnt "ended"

in other words, changing "autoplay next.." in settings will not affect the 5sec timer of the popup

Thanks for taking the time to reply nowacx, and yes, that is my understanding as well.
I know the autoplay next setting defines the trigger time of the popup

Allow me to pick your brain a bit more.. any idea where the setting for the 5 second timer would be ? Or where/what I should be searching out ?
Would like to give users a bit more time to get to the "cancel", so it doesn't cut off the end of the episode for them. They are a bit on the elderly side, lol.
Or.. ideally... just set the autoplay to actually autoplay at the END of the episode, regardless of when popup appears.

Doesn't make much sense the way it's designed... lowest setting for autoplay popup is 10seconds, yet the time to react is 5 seconds... so if no action is taken, it cuts off 5 seconds.

I've already managed to resize the auto_play_popup so it's about 20% larger, to help as a visual cue, but if I could change the 5sec timer to 10sec, that would be mint !

havent bothered spending time to edit or look into the 5sec timer as it functions adequately as is currently
as you rightly said, lowest of 10sec in settings means 5sec is cut off if no action is taken by user...... in most cases this shouldnt be a problem as most times that last 5sec is part of an outro/end credits
hitting cancel in the autoplay popup means next episode wont autoplay anyways, plus if a user wants to watch a video to the last second when it stops then they might as well just click the "next episode" button that shows up if they click "ok/select" when video stops on the last second
