INFO Help with Banner on firestick

I have the cienma hd panel app from the forum's here and when i install on my sheild i get the correct launcher icon but installing on ffirestick I get icon but not banner type..

anyone know i fix this?

This is a common problem for quite a few apps that have been modded the wrong way ,
what I think you have done is forget about the MIPMAP folders ?
you change the launcher icon in RES /DRAWABLE but you have to go into the mipmap folders and change the icon and banner there as well


Its a common problem you often see with modded xciptv ,
depending on what version you have I would check mipmap folders first , if they are ok recheck the res/drawable folders there are around 18 of them and see if you missed the banner.png or tvbanner.png I think in Cinema hd its called ic_tv.jpg check all drawable folders and change.

Sorry trying to get my head around this information lol... ok the ic_tv jpeg banner is showing and displaying on my sheild.. but not on my firestick.

Open androidmanifest ,
Near the top of the file, find the line that starts with “<application” and scroll to the right until you find the section of the line that has “android:icon” in it. The line will probably say android:icon=”@mipmap/ic_launcher” so you want to replace “mipmap” with “drawable” so that the line now reads android:icon=”@drawable/ic_launcher”. Be sure not to delete the “@” or modify any other part of the line. You could try this , I normally use sideload launcher 2 for 3rd party icons not showing

for clarity, you said "logo/icon" is already actually showing on firestick right? as in it's showing the square logo with grey borders
but it's just that you want it to display "banner image" instead, right?
if the above isnt what you're asking then ignore this lol, otherwise....

if above is the case then it's worth noting that "official/certified amazon approved apps" and apps installed from amazon appstore will "typically" display "banner(rectangular)" images whereas non store apps, sideloads, mods etc like cinemahd will typically display "logo/icon(square images with grey borders)"

like in pic below netflix youtube hulu shows banners and the other 3 "unofficial" apps show logos/square icons with grey borders


with use of launchers like atv, tvlauncher, flauncher etc one can have all apps displayed with their banner images

they aren't blocking 3rd party launchers per se as people can still install and use em, they've just "broken" the ability to set them as default launchers with latest device updates

there isnt an issue to be fixed, as mentioned n with the pic above about netflix hulu youtube compared to the other apps

unless mistaken, @G-man was describing the solution to the "no logo/missing logo" issue but that isnt applicable to what you've described as your icon/logo displays ok and it's just a case of you want the banner image view like appstore/official apps instead

Im wondering what the exact colour the gray side bars are.. try and design somthing that makes it look like its one banner

Sideload launcher 2 fixes this problem on nvidia shield not sure about firestick but if you open sideload2 then select admin mode it allows you to select any icon including for instance cinemahd banner , you then add and save and back out of admin mode , close sodeload launcher 2 and icon should be fixed , can't test tonight but can verify tomorrow on one of my firesticks , will let you know results

ok I found a solution you will need to watch this video first then follow the link to create your own

basically you create a shortcut for an app , this can then use any image you like so you can use cinemahd banner etc. you then hide the original app , its still there but now you use the shortcut to open it. the video is showing how to show missing icons but you can use the creation tool to create a cinemahd shortcut.

Did you try it @G-man ? Because every sideloaded apk is forced to a square

I dont have my firestick present atm , boxes I have here show the banner but the video I think will solve this problem on a firestick

Just tried and still the same m8... the only banners that are working are the ones from amazon store...anything sideloaded it uses the standard icon

Ok guys I have an update... after messing around with pixlelab on android ive created a text logo with No brackground and it doesnt make it look so ugly... it would apear the firestick has many sections it uses the picture.

I cant find the last location becauase its still showing differnt pic.

i did that and it still came up blank for the firestick loool
