Here are a couple of videos I made yesterday showing how easy it is to make or customise your own icons that you can then use in various apps
The icon set I am working on in the videos are a custom set I made for the recent IBO PRO releases
I named the video set LIPSTICK ON A PIG ..........because thats exactly what you are doing ,making something ugly look nicer :)
All edits on my PC personally would not be able to do this on a phone,
The only tool I am using is the FREE paint.net but any paint package that uses layers will do as its the same princaples .
in a nutshell for reference these are the steps to learn:-
1 Find a background to use make it 600 x 600
2 Find some icons on the internet resize them to 500x500 and set the alpha to zero so they are black
3 Copy paste your icon onto the background therefore creating a top layer
4 Select the magic wand tool and hold shift key while you click on any part of the black icon
5 Top menu select layers then delete layer
6 Select Edit from the top menu and scroll down to invert selection
7 Use the cut tool to cut the background leaving the new icon with the background as its surface.
8 save out and use
