you can use the vod n series portals to add vod and/or series to a service
as an example.... imagine you have 2 services named live-only and vod-only, you would probably just put live-only on portal1 and vod-only on portal2

however, if you enter the url/dns of the vod-only service into the "vod portal and series portal in xciptv panel" it makes it possible for your users who log into the live-only service on portal 1 to view vod and series from the vod-only service without the need to switch profile/portals to portal 2 (in essence, it "merges" the two services) - user login details has to be the same on both services

there are several scenarios n use cases for the xciptv vod and series portals.... in the end, the "general idea" is as described above
