I have installed and opened up apk editor i am trying to decompile smarter v4this has been decompiling for over 1hour is this normal time frames or am i missing something? As you can probably tell i am new to the app editing have always paid for my apps before. be gentle with me.

hate to tell you this but you are more or less garenteed to break smarters with apk editor I have it on my PC and only use it if i am looking for something in the APK i cant find with MT manager decomiple smarters and without doing any edits at all try to recompile it and for me it almost certainly breaks
Just use MT Manager on an emulator like NOX or Bluestacks. I avoided it for too long, once you get used to it, its brilliant. I would suggest just paying the few quid for the premium version.
Yeah MT Manager works in a different way, you will navigate to an apk and open it, then once you are done you can repack that same apk or recompile a new one.
Im sure there will be some good guides on here somewhere, but you will find your own way of working with it.
I like to find the images/files i want to edit, extract them to another folder, then go make the edits in windows, then go back into MT and replace the original files with my new ones.
If you want to change the app name, you will need to search within the dex files and resources via the included tools and make the changes within the app.
