I have elderly parents with poor hearing so when they watch Live TV they prefer to watch with subtitles
as IPTV does come with pre configured subs they tend to use an old SKY box to watch terestial TV.
I was in a chat channel today and seen the question asked if you could view live TV with subtitles so I decided to investigate
and was surprised with the results.
Just to clarify this is for live Tv as on certain players you can use third party players to import subs etc.
Depending on the service and the player results will be mixed but surprisingly good
I choose XCIPTV as the APK to use and a random IPTV service that i know is good.
while a live channel is playing go full screen and press the OK button to bring up the bottom right icons (different method per app but much the same)
click on the CC button (closed Caption)
If the channel has subtitles available a little option panel will open for you to enable subs else it will tell you no subs available.
with this service i used i had local channels and a good number of each terestial channel
Give it a few seconds after you enable them
and you then should see them appear.
I then went through my Terestial channels and the ones with the ability to display subs I added to my Favorites section so I now have them all in one place so they are easy to find. a little setup I know but great for elderly viewers .
