How can I improve this? I'm only an amateur compared to G-Man and others ? my photoshop skillz aren't there yet lol can't seem to judge the correct size in text for top icons

Are you doing this all on an android device? Get yourself a laptop or desktop if you are serious about branding. Makes life so much easier and you can see images in true color which on some android is hard to see. I would keep all the text the golden color or put a gold highlight around the darker text as it may be harder to see. Malfoy also is a bit squashed too.

I agree with atomant247 above , laptop or PC for doing themes , its way easier than trying to do it on your phone or a pad ,
good emulator and good graphics package .
One big mistake themers make is having a great looking background that is just a little to busy ,
busy background and your buttons need to be very prominent to stand out, In your image above a lot of the top half of the screen is wasted
so I did a reverse image search (yes you can do this for almost any image) and found your background , I then resized it to 1280x720 as i find this the easiest to work with
and it is correct res if the apk enlarges or makes it smaller.

its a nice background but looking at where your main icons are sitting they are going to be a little lost , so i used paint.net and the blur tool
created a 1280x720 black background and took the blurred image(it blurs the edges of an image) and pasted it on top , then moved the whole image up
by doing this it leaves a clear space for your main buttons. only a little bit of work but the background now has a whole new feel to it.

Paint.net with all the good plugins is brilliant. Used for many years now. Love it.

lookin , see the points of the two wands that have like a blue orb on them ? i would color those orbs the same as the icons

No I'am doing it on a laptop pal lol. Ok thanks for the feedback I'll alter the darker text and adjust malfoy

Yeah that be cool, so the main icons of mine are ok but as stated previously, malfoy is too squashed
