Thats a good question for me personally it has to be easy enough for john doe to set up that it launches automatic
also you need to consider is a luancher worth it ? i understand with the firestick interfaces also latest android tv interface with google adds amazon rentals etc. this bugs the shit out of me and they would be hidden if using a launcher.
first thing to consider is iy has to be lightweight enough to not effect your system when launching an app within an app.
also it has to look good on the eye and on big screens as thats what we are talking about here
with the look comes the layout , it has to be natural for the user ? virgin and Sky spent millions designing user interfaces and layouts for thier products.
widgets are great for anyone
common ones are clock , date , fav channels ,live scores.
On googling wolf launcher or ATV pro (same app) seem to come up the most simple tile layout with widgets this seems the most common

These types of launchers must be better for your system as no video previews or adverts anywhere in sight
I think with android tv its a bit cheaky advertising rental movies that i have no intrest in ever paying for i had to stop my mother clicking on them
and who wants to see video previews of movies on amazon ? come on you actually paid for your device its yours you should be able to decide what you want to see.
